Website Design

Audience Nature of Company

The audience and Nature of the Company comes from a design and similar inspiration of the company MuddyFox this is because MuddyFox is also sub culture. Biking and other sports can be associated with the design of Urban life style.

Images

Images played a big role in my website design this is because I wanted images that were relevant to skateboarding and Surfing. All of these off set images came into the category of urban design. The image of the wolf is to act as a metaphor for skateboarding and Urban sport being Extreme like the animal the wolf. The idea behind the images that I have chosen or made is that they show some connection or resemblance related to the theme of Urban culture.

Graphics

Looking at different graphics I decided based my design on something that related to my branch name Urban.K after thinking for a while I finally came to the conclusion of making shaped graphics in illustrator and the pen tool that I would create a image that was related to Urban culture in my case I found out that the wolf, is an Urban animal therefor this created my off set idea of creating the wolf as my main image logo. However I had to find out a way that I could create a effective logo using viable tools an graphics in illustrator using the shape tool i managed to string tougher some shapes as my base and overlap the layers to eventually give the graphic made image of the wolf.

Fonts

I looked at a range of effective fonts Impact was the font style that was there straight forward in your face caught the users eyes. Italic and scroll fonts weren't effective because they were easy to miss and unreadable if not set at a font that was Bold and above 33. Impact was the original font design but after experimenting in more depth the Bifon font was the one that stuck out more and fitted better with my logo design.

Website logo design

We looked at other graphics and other Fonts, images and Colours Website design layout.

Colour

Colour was an important step in my design for my website. Even though it was one of the last steps in  website design. Finding out what colours contrasts with each each other. As well as finding colours that don't clash or give important images or graphics an outset or offset view. Looking at different colours i came to the conclusion that what ever colour is opposite on the colour wheel you could use as a background colour this is because the main primary don't clash when colours are merged tougher.

Russell Brand Jonathan Ross

Ofcom fined BBC £150,000 for Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross prank phone calls.

Media regulator Ofcom has fined the BBC a record £150,000 for broadcasting "gratuitously offensive, humiliating and demeaning" prank phone calls made by Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross to the actor Andrew Sachs.

In their calls, Ross and Brand left a series of lewd messages on the actor's answering machine, claiming that Brand had slept with his granddaughter Georgina Baillie.
It is believed to be the largest fine for a single case issued by the regulator.
Ofcom said the scale of the fine "reflects the extraordinary nature and seriousness of the BBC's failures and the resulting breaches of the Code".
It condemned the way it had aired "explicit, intimate and confidential" information about Miss Baillie and Mr Sachs in both programmes without their consent.
"This not only unwarrantably and seriously infringed their privacy but was also gratuitously offensive, humiliating and demeaning," it said.

The BBC received 45,000 complaints following the incident – which forced the resignation of Russell Brand, Lesley Douglas Controller of Radio 2 and David Barber, the head of specialist music and compliance at Radio 2 and led to presenter Jonathan Ross being suspended without pay for 12 weeks.

Ofcom

The Office of Communications, commonly known as Ofcom, is the government-approved regulatory and competition authority for the broadcasting, telecommunications and postal industries of the United Kingdom.

They set the relegations for the Radio, TV, Ect.... This is because media when shown on public grounds must be fair.

Australia Radio Scandal

Jacintha Saldanha (1966 – 7 December 2012) was a British-Indian nurse who worked at King Edward 3rd Ward Hospital in London, England. On 7 December 2012, she was found dead by apparent suicide, three days after falling for a prank phone call as part of a radio stunt. In the prank call, the hosts of the Australian radio programme Hot30 Countdown, broadcast on the Southern Cross-owned station 2Day FM in Sydney, called Saldanha's hospital and impersonated the Queen and the Prince of Wales enquiring about the health of the Duchess of Cambridge, who was a patient there at the time. Saldanha fell for the hoax and transferred the call to the nurse looking after the Duchess.

Saldanha's suicide led to public outrage, including in Saldanha's home country of India, against those responsible for perpetrating and broadcasting the prank. Despite numerous calls for legal action, no charges were laid.

Foley Artist

Foley Artist

Foley artist at work. Foley is the reproduction of everyday sound effects that are added to film, video, and other media in post-production to enhance audio quality. These reproduced sounds can be anything from the swishing of clothing and footsteps to squeaky doors and breaking glass.

They experiment with different sounds and use the appropriate sound to creak the effect of another sound and record the audio through boom mic or relevant sound recording equipment. Foley artists recreate the realistic ambient sounds that the film portrays. The props and sets of a film often do not react the same way acoustically as their real life counterparts. Foley sounds are used to enhance the auditory experience of the movie. Foley can also be used to cover up unwanted sounds captured on the set of a movie during filming, such as overflying airplanes or passing traffic.

Capital is a radio network of twelve independent contemporary hit Radio stations in the United Kingdom, owned and operated by Global Radio. Capital was previously known as Mix, One, Galaxy and Hit Music at various times. The stations were formerly owned by Gcap and Chrysalis Radio prior to their respective takeovers by Global Radio and, with the exception of Capital London, were all part of Galaxy or Hit Music until they were merged to form the Capital network on Monday 3 January 2011.

They were that successful that they managed to create a of set radio station called Capital FM radio Extra. Creating a profit value of over 1.6 billion pounds the Capital FM Radio station went on to win multiple awards this included the London Life style award and many others.

I personally prefer to listen to Capital FM because it host more interviews with current artists that i find suited to my person preference and interests.

BBC Radio 4 is a radio station owned and operated by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) that broadcasts a wide variety of spoken-word programmes including news, drama, comedy, science and history. It replaced the BBC Home Service in 1967.

BBC Radio 4 is mostly if not all speech based dramas where they talk about current political problems in the world at the current moment in time.

BBC Radio is an operational business division and service of the British Broadcasting industry (which has operated in the United Kingdom under the terms of a Royal Charter since 1927). The service provides national radio stations covering the majority of musical genres, as well as local radio stations covering local news, affairs and interests. It also oversees online audio content.
Of the national radio stations, BBC Radio 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 Live are all available through analogue radio (5 Live on AM only) as well as on DAB digital Radio and internet services through RealMedia, WMA and BBC Iplayer. The remaining stations, BBC Radio 1 Xtra, 4 Xtra, 5 Live sports extra and 6 music , all broadcast on digital platforms only.
All of the BBC's national radio stations (with the exception of 5 Live and 5 Live Sports Extra which broadcast from  broadcast from bases in London, usually in or near to Board casting house  in Marybone  However, the BBC's network production units located in Belfast and Manchester also make radio programmes.

Overall I find BBC 4 boring this is because its a radio station that is not tailored to my personal interest like music....I find it just a bit monotonous. However some people take an interest in listening too pre-recorded books or current de bates or issues. However if its me and i wanted to know about current issues i can switch over to BBC 4.

History of Radio

History of Radio

Gulilmgo Marconi an Italian inventor, proved the feasibility of radio communication in Italy 1895.
Julio Bavaria developed radio in 1902. It consisted of a weak transmition of a voice over and air waves. British Marconi was the first person to conduct a successful translantic radio communication in 1904. 1904 brought the telegraphy sending communication through mores code.

Tesla coil was used to understand electrons jumping the gap between the coil and the wire allowing the them to understand the science behind electromagnetic waves (Allowing the first Radio Communication).

Audio Broad-casting 1919-1950s

8th December 1941 president of America declared war against Japan using radio as a form of global communication
During the mid 1920s there was an innovation to the radio as the UK abandoned crystal sets for vacuum tubes (thermionic values in the UK) allowing for an additional AM sending an extra 670 meters.

When radio was introduced in the 1920s many predicted the end of record. Radio was a free medium for the public to hear music for which they would normally pay. While some companies saw radio as a new avenue for promotion, others feared it would cut into profits from record sales and live performances. Many companies had their major stars sign agreements that they would not appear on radio.FM subcarrier services are secondary signals transmitted in a "piggyback" fashion along with the main program. Special receivers are required to utilize these services. Analog channels may contain alternative programming, such as reading services for the blind, background music or stereo sound signals.

FM-AM Radio Frequency

The first radio broadcast to be received with sound in it was a dude who played violin on christmas day and a lighthouse received the broadcast from the scientist. Radio became a household utility. The creation of the modern radio superheterodyne by Edward Armstrong made the radio signal stronger and more viable. The transmission and reception of electromagnetic waves of radio frequency, especially those carrying sound messages.Analog television sends the picture as AM and the sound as AM or FM, with the sound carrier a fixed frequency away from the video carrier. Analog television also uses a vestigial sideband on the video carrier to reduce the bandwidth required.

Radio after this point in time became very political and central to peoples culture. Everyone used one or had one as it still managed to survive through the bringing about of television.

Current Day

Radio stations are still used today and are still a common use in peoples day to day lives. It has managed to survive until this point this is because it is most tuned into in the morning when people drive to work or wake up to it in the morning. There is a lot more variety in what radio stations people can listen to.
