Capital is a radio network of twelve independent contemporary hit Radio stations in the United Kingdom, owned and operated by Global Radio. Capital was previously known as Mix, One, Galaxy and Hit Music at various times. The stations were formerly owned by Gcap and Chrysalis Radio prior to their respective takeovers by Global Radio and, with the exception of Capital London, were all part of Galaxy or Hit Music until they were merged to form the Capital network on Monday 3 January 2011. 

Through out the 1990's Capital FM made radio a success again. Becoming one of the UK's major radio station by acquiring a group of radio stations at the time. They were that successful that they managed to create a of set radio station called Capital FM radio Extra. Creating a profit value of over 1.6 billion pounds the Capital FM Radio station went on to win multiple awards this included the London Life style award and many others.  

I personally prefer to listen to Capital FM because it host more interviews with current artists that i find suited to my person preference and interests.
